Chanctonbury Ring
Thirteen of us headed up onto the South Downs and continued to the iron age fort of Chanctonbury Ring.
It is situated at one of the highest points on the South Downs and we could see south to Cissbury Ring and the offshore wind turbines, south west to the Isle of Wight and north into the weald and North Downs.
We returned through woodland and picniced in the open field before returning to our start point.
4.9 miles, height gained 620 feet.
